Acoutaps: Al Barnes and Tyler Nelson sometimes share the stage with me when I play. The last time it was a blues thing with Al doing the rhythm guitar (sounded like Stevie Ray Vaughn). I was doing the lead guitar stuff, a mixture of B.B. King, Hendrix etc. Acoutaps are fun people. They are really good people and good musicians. One Saturday afternoon they both showed up in my studio. Al had been doing his songs and I was engineering and producing him. Much later Tyler was there to witness the excitement which emanated from Al's perfectly done vocal harmonies.Then Tyler summarily took over my Yamaha electronic drums which are also linked to my studio. The way he played thosed drums blew my mind. Then nicely I asked if they could back me up when play. They did not say No.
Al and Tyler are good people. That is why I hang around them. Check them out next time or anytime. Anything I approve has gold or a King Midas touch!

Believe this. On May 5, 2008 I showed up to see Al and Tyler's band NOTWITHSTANDING playing at the Fine Line Cafe in Minneapolis. Brian was playing guitar and Reed was playing bass. Reed said someone was dancing with his wife (or soon to be wife) and a few moments laterthe dancers broke loose. I saw the guy dancing with Reed's fiancee running the other way.
Then out of no where, unheard before, Al said my name and he told me to come onstage to just to stand there ontage. That I did. And I spread a lot of good news about good music. Lots of people were very happy from Al's gesture.
